the "Echoes of the Shtetl" project
Roland's latest project is "Echoes of the Shtetl". This is a suite of music inspired by the generation of brave Jews who left the Pale of Settlement fleeing pogroms and poverty in the years around 1900.
By turns poignant, scary, humourous, melancholic and ecstatic, Roland's music and lyrics pay tribute to grandparents and great grandparents.
"Echoes of the Shtetl" stretches out a hand to these never met generations to whose bravery and ingenuity all is owed.
